Malarone tablets are well-established and trusted brand and are recognized for their high effectiveness in preventing and treating malaria, offering reliable protection against the disease.
Rapid Action: Malarone starts working quickly, rapidly reducing the number of malaria parasites in the body to prevent the development of the disease.
Broad-Spectrum Protection: Malarone is effective against various species of malaria parasites, including those resistant to other antimalarial medications, offering broader protection in diverse geographical regions.
Convenient Dosage: Malarone is typically taken as a once-daily dose, providing ease of use and improved compliance for travelers.
Well-Tolerated: Malarone is generally well-tolerated by most individuals, with few reported side effects. This enhances patient comfort and adherence to the medication regimen.

If you experience symptoms of malaria during your trip or after returning home, it’s crucial to seek urgent medical attention, even if you’ve been taking your antimalarial tablets.
Malarone tablets contain 250mg of atovaquone and 100mg of proguanil hydrochloride, and are approved for malaria prevention in the UK.
Start the course 1 or 2 days before entering a malaria-risk country, take the tablet daily throughout your stay, and continue for 7 days after leaving the affected area.
Take the tablets with food at the same time each day. If you miss a dose or vomit within an hour of taking the tablets, take another dose as soon as possible. If you have diarrhea, continue taking the tablets as normal but take extra precautions to prevent mosquito bites.
It is crucial to complete the entire course of treatment. Studies have shown that this medication can be safely used continuously for up to 1 year or possibly longer.
If you have kidney disease, you should be carefully assessed before taking Malarone tablets.
For pregnant or breastfeeding individuals, it’s important to consult with a midwife or doctor for advice before taking antimalarial medications or traveling to a malaria-endemic country.
To ensure safety, try to avoid getting pregnant for 2 weeks after stopping this medication, as it may still be in your system.
Remember, always follow the guidance of healthcare professionals and read the provided patient information leaflet for complete instructions on the use of Malarone.
You need to start taking tablet 2 days before, while you are in the malaria risk area, and 7 days after. One tablet per day.
If 7-day trip – you will need 16 tablets.
If 10-day trip – you will need 19 tablets.
If 14-day trip – you will need 23 tablets.
